Travel Hanoi-Da Nang by Train

Why choose the train for a trip?

One way to keep the children always excited when traveling, is to propose different experiences that make the trip much more enjoyable. This way you will always have them encouraged and excited.

For this reason and also because we believe that taking a night train is a good way to make the most of your time. Especially to move a long distance, plus save a night in a hotel, we decided to take this train from Hanoi to Da Nang.

Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore route.

Where to book?

In our case we took the Violette Express Train. This train leaves Hanoi at 19.30 in the evening and arrives in Da Nang around 11.30 in the morning! A lot of hours!

We booked it through the Violette Train website, we took the train number SE3, the price is 75 $ per person. We took the train number SE3, the price is 75 $ 75 per person, and we booked it about 4 months before, and they send you the ticket to your email with which you can access directly to the train.

Hanoi Railway Station

The Hanoi train station is not very big, but there are lockers where you can leave your luggage. While waiting you have many dining options nearby if you want to dine before catching the train, there is also a large supermarket 5 minutes walk on the same sidewalk southbound, it is called Fujimart here we leave the exact address, we recommend you to bring some supplies to catch the train, take breakfast and some snacks. Just behind you will find Train Street, one of the most famous streets of Hanoi, which we recommend to visit, if it is open, but with great caution! It is very curious to see how the train passes in the middle of the street. And then when you get on the train, you will be the one passing through that street.

What will we find?

The cabins are for 4 people, with two bunk beds. They are very well equipped with sheets, pillows, towels and air conditioning that make it very comfortable, also in each cabin they leave you bottles of water and fruit.

Our experience

The trip was very pleasant, the children slept a lot, sometimes a little noisy with the tracks, but I don't know if we were too tired but we all slept very well.

A little bit of games, some movies and thinking about a future trip, and the hours fly by. From sunrise you can open the curtain and have breakfast while looking out the window, the scenery is beautiful, especially the two hours before arriving in Da Nang, where the train tracks pass through some mountains that run along the sea.
