Where to sleep in Amsterdam with Motorhome
On our motorhome route through France, Belgium and the Netherlands we decided to spend 3 nights in Amsterdam. It is often a dilemma where to sleep in Amsterdam with a motorhome.
After a lot of searching we decided to choose the campsite that we will present below for different reasons, and we couldn't be happier.
Camping Vliegenbos Amsterdam
Situation.
Located north of the city center on the other side of Amsterdam's grand canal. It is located in the middle of a large forest. To reach the center from the campsite you have two options, on the one hand the ferry, the embarkation situationThe ferry is located about 15 minutes walk from the campsite, the ferry is free and connects to the central station. Ferries depart every 10 minutes.
On the other hand you have the subway Station Noorderpark located about 10 minutes from the campsite, with this line you can reach the museum area in about 10 minutes.
Facilities.
The Vliegenbos campsite has different options, from staying in its huge grassy esplanades with your own tent, small wooden cabins of 4 or 8 people with a communal kitchen, and the motorhome area, with a large space to take your tables and dine outside. There are also plenty of power outlets close to the motorhomes, so you don't need a long cable to get plugged in.
Its entrance barrier, through which vehicles enter, closes at 11 p.m. at night.
Services.
At the entrance you will find a large terrace with a bar and a small supermarket. The bar offers drinks at good prices, and some food. They also have board games to pass the time. There is also music and an outdoor fireplace if the day cools down.
Next to it is the reception, where you can buy different tickets for tourist places in the city. As well as coins to wash clothes or dry them in their machines.
Laundry machines are conveniently located behind the reception and next to the bar.
There are two hygiene service areas, showers and toilets are very clean, and there is a large area for cleaning dishes.
Our experience at this campsite was great, the kids were able to play on the lawn while we relaxed reading under the trees that envelop you in the forest. In addition all the staff is very nice and strive to make everything easier. For its location, its facilities, and the kindness that welcomed us we totally recommend it.
